BY THE NUMBERS:              Girls -  A new school record is a new school record.  The last ½ mile is definitely short!  This course always runs fast on mile one.  Cynthia did and lost a minute over mile 2.  Hannah ran nearly EVEN, suggesting mile 1 was too slow.  Trinity and Samantha struggled from the mile point on.

Guys – I think this course is more like 3.1miles!  Jesus ran AWESOME!  Last mile times tell the story.  Dustin followed instructions, “run conservative”.  Randy ran his mile 3 fairly close to his AVG mile time.  Everybody else failed to “FINISH” the race.  Find it within yourself to not “give in” to being tired.  There’s got to be something left, just run through it.  Try it, do something CRAZY!!

JR High –  Last race of the year for most as 3 of 4 runners scored PR’s.  Lindsay by 8 secs, Justin by 2 secs and Nicole by 6 seconds.  The course ran too fast to be 1.1 miles.  Had it been 1.1 we would have to take off about 40 seconds to get the mile time.  Justin 5:18??  Lindsay 6:02??  Paige 5:43??  Nicole 6:31??  Could be, but it seems unrealistic.  Paige ran within 3 secs of PR even though she didn’t feel well.

COACHES COMMENTS:     The “numbers” tell me most of our runners missed an opportunity to run hard the entire race.  Please think about your race plans.  Where can you try something new.  It seems we’re in a little of a rut.  What can YOU do during the week that will improve your chance to run better.  Sleep more, eat better and think positive.  Good things will happen.  Thursday at Dighton is to be hot (90 degrees) and windy (15-20 mph).  Be prepared physically and mentally!
