BY THE NUMBERS:              Girls -  Cynthia did run the fastest 4 K ever by a Leoti runner but I haven’t decided if it’s official. (not the regular course and short)  It appears this course should have been run in NEGATIVE fashion, mile 2 faster than mile 1.  Jena and Sam both cut about 20 seconds off the 2nd mile.  Nice going.  Once Cynthia learns to race like she practices, relaxed and having fun, she will amaze everyone.  The last .5 mile was estimated as no mile 2 time was recorded.

Guys – Dustin ran an awesome race.  People are starting to take notice of that top Leoti runner.  Nice work.  Jesus and Randy ran very well.  Collin and Matthew, well lights out when compared to Leoti.  Do you know what happens when the top 5 runners all run good races.  MEDALS.  Jordan suffered from being gone over the long weekend but he’ll come back strong Saturday.  Kyler ran great, a new PR, congrats.  Charlie and Matthew recovered in mile 3 after FAST starts.  Nice job.  Arthur ran a great first mile.  Let’s talk GAP time.  Our goal by years end should be to have Dustin in the Mid to Low 18:00’s and #5 runner in the Mid to Low 20:00’s.  GAP = 2:00.  The 3 qualifying teams last year had GAP’s at regionals of : Sterling 2:11, Meade :59, and Johnson 1:08.  With 2 runners in the top 12 we can GAP 2:00 and be in the hunt.  What do you think?  Is it worth it?
